Another successful Team Major Leadership Convention came to a conclusion this past Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis Missouri. This weekend-long event featured some of the top leadership professionals around including best-selling authors, Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady and also special guest speaker Dr. Robert Rohm.
An impressive ice storm that hit the Midwest attempted to keep many Team members from the arena, but was highly unsuccessful. Although the St. Louis airport was for the most part, closed, team members were not deterred. They found alternate flights, rented cars and boarded buses and trains instead. Many of these car rides took twice as long as intended as the roads were covered with a blanket of ice. Speakers and event attendees alike mentioned time and time again that they resorted to borrowing someone else's seminar attire since theirs was lost somewhere on a cancelled flight. This impressive team-wide display simply shows how leaders in Team are using Team's training to become competent when "overcoming obstacles" while at the same time having a great attitude.
The event kicked off Friday evening, and despite the ice storm, thousands of Team members did in fact reach their seats before the first speaker took the stage. Throughout this action-packed weekend, a host of leadership training topics were covered aligning with the event's theme, Overcoming Obstacles. The speakers brought forth messages about marriage and family life, finances, leadership in the workplace and in business, a leader's character and attitude, taking responsibility and facing fears among other topics. Speakers kept the leadership training coming until late Sunday afternoon as Team customers filled their notebooks with this valuable leadership information until the arena closed. Although many Team members had hours to travel to get home and jobs to go to on Monday morning, it seemed that no one wanted to leave, but rather wanted to stay for as much leadership training as they could absorb.
